Union Hospital’s Radiologic Technicians have been the first in the Wabash Valley to work with digital imaging technology. You will utilize digital and computer generated imaging to obtain the best possible images with the least amount of radiation. Due to these advances in technology, technologists are able to complete their exams faster than they could with traditional film and wet processing techniques.
Imaging Services includes a vast array of modalities, allowing for variety and advancement. MRI, CT scanning, Ultrasound, Interventional, portable x-ray and surgery have the latest technology. CT has three scanners, including a 64 slice system, and MRI has the shortest boar closed scanner possible. New interventional suites in Radiology and the Cardiac Cath Lab provide physicians with the ability to perform the newest techniques for diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases. In addition, Cardiology has the first electrophysiology lab in the area.
All imaging is stored in archive on the Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) for convenient storage and retrieval of patient imaging. Physicians are able to view their patient’s images from anywhere they have access to the Internet via web-based software. Advances in imaging technology help to facilitate the quality care that we provide to our patients. |
