| Union
Hospital is the area's largest not-for-profit medical center,
providing quality care to all, regardless of the ability to pay.
According to a recent consumer image survey of area residents, more
people mentioned Union Hospital as their hospital of choice than
all other hospitals in the Wabash Valley combined. Union Hospital
is also the area's only teaching hospital.
Union Hospital partners with local educational institutions like
Ivy Tech State College, Indiana State University and Lincoln Trail
College to provide a clinical site where nursing students can practice
their theoretical learning and develop their skills. The institutions
in turn offer our employees continuing education opportunities that
are both challenging and conveniently located.
Our focused plan and strategy for growth includes an exciting master
facility plan that calls for new patient care facilities, enhanced
centers of excellence and continuing acquisition of the latest in
technology.
Patient safety and satisfaction is job number one at Union Hospital
. Our patients consistently rate our nurses among the
nation's best as measured by the Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction
Survey. A healthcare safety consortium led by Eli Lilly & Company
has called our patient safety program a model for hospitals to follow.
